Bottom surface-pressing / side handle clamps are a type of clamp used to fasten materials to a work bench. They are designed for use when doing the same work repeatedly, so are used after a mounting base has been fastened to the work bench. The bottom surface-pressing design improves work convenience by fastening the material with a downward force. The available products include types with accessory spindles having fine tips to match fine materials, and types covered in rubber to prevent scratching the fastened material. These clamps usually have a style that incorporates the principle of leverage and a toggle clamp. A toggle clamp with a sideways-facing handle is called a side handle clamp. There are also upright models, but the sideways models enable easier handle operation since the user can put their weight into the operation.
