Power Tap / Power Cord / Extension Cord
Power strips, power supply cords and extension cords supply power to equipment and industrial appliances placed at a distance from the power source. Power cords supply power directly, while in comparison, extension cords and power strips can divert power from 1 power source to multiple devices. Outlet shapes come in either 2-pin or 3-pin, and the cords are either soft types that are easier to handle and hard types that are waterproof, cold resistant, etc., and suitable for outdoor use. Types with rubber covers for waterproofing, dust-proofing and retaining are highly durable. Power strips may vary in number of outlets and cord lengths and may feature a wide range of additional functions such as earth leakage protection ground terminals, power indicator lights and magnets.
