Cord Stock - Square profile, Silicone (ZUSA-RC-1761)
O-rings are designed to be seated and compressed during assembly in order to create a seal. Different profiles are used depending on the application and use case. Square profile o-rings require less pressure than round-profile o-rings and will not roll or twist in moving applications. Cord stock, also known as rubber cord, is used to create o-rings whenever a molded o-ring is unsuitable for use. Silicone o-rings are made of FDA-compliant materials and is ideal for use in food and beverage applications. Silicone has excellent temperature range and good resistance to mild chemicals, animal & vegetable oils.
