Stopper Bolts

Locating Positioning

STOPPER BOLTS

Used in a variety of industrial applications to limit or control the movement of components or mechanisms. These bolts are installed in a fixed position and their main function is to provide a stopping point to restrict the displacement of a part or to secure its desired position.

APPLICATIONS

Stop bolts are used in a wide variety of industries where it is required to limit, control or position the movement of components:

  • Industrial automation: Used in industrial automation systems to limit and control the movement of components in assembly lines, machinery and robotic systems. Help to establish precise positions, ensure repeatability and avoid unwanted collisions.

  • Electronics industry: In the manufacture of electronic equipment, stop pins are used to establish the precise position of components such as switches, connectors and displays, ensuring proper alignment and correct operation.

  • Industrial process automation: In automated industrial processes, such as flow control, batching or material handling, stopper bolts are used to control the movement of valves, gates, robotic arms and other devices, ensuring accuracy and safety in the process.

Example No.000073 | MISUMI inCAD Library

The mechanism shown consists of a press that is
manually operated to join two plastic parts.

The stop pin in this example limits the movement
of the press.

Rope size (M)

from 3 to 16mm (1/4”-20 to #10-32)

Screw length (L)

from 10 to 70mm (1” to 3”)

TYPES OF ASSEMBLIES

Hexagonal Screw
The adjustment is like a conventional
hexagonal screw, the locknut is used to fix
the screw position.

Allen Hole
The adjustment is like a conventional socket
head cap screw, the locknut is used to fix the
screw position.

Loocknut
One of the locknuts gives the height
adjustment to the screw and the other one
fixes the position of the screw.

MATERIALS AND FINISHES

Different damper and screw materials are available:

Material Material (Description))
Screw • Steel: offers flexibility and greater hardness.
• Stainless steel: resistant to humidity, high temperatures and corrosion.
Shock absorber • Urethane: reinforces and protects surfaces. Offers thermal and chemical resistance.
• Rubber: tear resistant and resistant to low temperatures.
• Silicone: offers stability and flexibility in its geometry and withstands high temperatures.
• Nylon: mechanical and abrasion resistance, but does not have good dimensional stability.
• Polyacetal: has good dimensional stability.
